Ducati has announced it will bring three electric bike models to select dealers in Canada for 2023; the Ducati MIG-S, Ducati TK-01RR and Ducati TK-01RR LE.
We’ve seen a lot of e-bikes coming from our beloved bike brands over the years, these new models from Ducati seem more geared towards enduro mountain biking than many of the other e-bike models on offer.
The Ducati MIG-S is built like an all-mountain e-bike, built to be light and built to climb and descend. It’s set up with 150mm of front and 140mm of rear travel, a 29-inch front wheel and 27.5-inch rear wheel, and the Shimano Steps E8000 motor and 630Wh Shimano battery placed under the down tube to improve handling .
The Ducati TK-01RR is the E-enduro model, made sturdier than the MIG-S; equipped to handle anything, especially the descents. Featuring a new pure performance Shimano EP8 drive unit that weighs just 5.72 lbs. weighs, the motor is one of the lightest and most compact in the segment with a maximum torque of 85 Nm with a maximum servo assist ratio of 400%. This translates into torque that is always delivered with maximum fluidity, also thanks to a reduction in friction. Featuring a 630Wh Shimano battery and a new aluminum frame with a vertical down tube, the TK-01RR is also equipped with other high-end components such as a 12-speed transmission and Shimano XT brakes, as well as the brand new 180mm Öhlins RXF 38 front fork and Pirelli Scorpion tires specially developed for E-MTBs.
If that wasn’t enough, Ducati will also be releasing the TK-01RR LE, a limited edition model built with higher specification components and the basics of downhill mountain biking in mind. The fork is an Öhlins DH38 dual plate motorcycle style air fork (180mm travel) and at the rear the Öhlins TTX coil spring shock absorber (170mm travel). The differentiated size Crankbrothers Synthesis wheels (29″ front, 27.5″ rear) with variable thickness carbon rims help to further improve driving precision and ensure an excellent weight-to-strength ratio. The set-up is completed by a Renthal carbon handlebar.
Pricing for the MIG-S starts at an MSRP of $7,695, the TK-01RR starts at an MSRP of $10,995, and the TK-01RR Limited Edition starts at an MSRP of $14,495. Demo rides for these models will be offered for those interested at selected dealers.
