Nestled in the heart of Chelsea, London, The Sloane Club’s rooftop terrace is a beautiful sun-filled terrace. A quiet, tranquil space to escape, relax and unwind above the busy streets.
So, after a morning of shopping on London’s Kings Road, my sister and I decided to have lunch and a chat at the Sloane Club.
The roof terrace is reached by a grand old staircase and on arrival we were warmly greeted by our smiling host Pippi.
We were led across a beautiful flower-filled wooden deck to our fabulous table. The place setting was immaculate and plush chair covers and plush velvet cushions added to the luxurious feel.

The daily menu is extensive and exciting and for a summer lunch we were looking for light, fresh and vibrant flavours. We were certainly not disappointed.
I was tempted by the dressed Devon crab with mango and wasabi tobiko. This was wonderfully soft, delicate and paired beautifully with the crunch of toasted soda bread.

My sister opted for the burrata topped with picante cherry tomato compote and fig balsamic reduction. Described as luscious, creamy and perfect when scooped up with warm bread (yes, we’re not ashamed to say we love our carbs!).

The main course was the beautiful brioche burger of native lobster and tiger prawn topped with avocado.

My sister loved the messy, aromatic lemongrass chicken burger served with garlic aioli, pineapple salsa, and spicy slaw.
We shared a side of wonderfully fragrant crispy truffle parmesan fries. This was all washed down with a chilled glass of Whispering Angel rose wine – wow what a treat!
But of course, “it’s not over until the fat lady sings” and we treated ourselves to the Baileys iced chocolate bombe. A piece of theater to watch while the chocolate ball melts away under a splash of hot toffee sauce.

Of course we left a small amount of room to sample a cocktail to round it all out. Sascha, our friendly and professional bartender, made a delicious espresso martini and then we were reset and ready to hit the streets of Chelsea.

The entrance to the Sloane club is quite discreet as it is a private members club. However, you can reserve a table at The Roof Terrace to enjoy the first class service and experience the exclusive atmosphere without the cost of a membership.

We plan to return soon as the restaurant has some interesting summer pop ups. Currently collaborating with No.3 Gin, featuring sexy cocktails such as St James Spritz, Sloane 75 and Champagne & Chelsea Bloom. Oh, and did I mention you can listen to live music on Sundays?

As a wine aficionado, I was excited to learn that Whispering Angel might be the next summer pop-up and I’ll be following Instagram for more news.

So whether you’re looking for alfresco dining and cocktails with girlfriends or a romantic meal in a cozy nook under twinkling lights as the sun goes down, The Roof terrace at The Sloane Club!
