As a resident of Sedona, Arizona, I have had the opportunity to explore and find many beautiful landscape photography locations. In my opinion, the only thing better is photography of night landscapes with the Milky Way and the sky.
Workshop night sky
i designed nocturnal photo workshops around Sedona’s International Dark Sky Designation. You can read more about the here dark sky indication and what it takes to maintain. Suffice it to say that we can see a lot of stars. Add some red rocks as a foreground and it makes for some incredible photographic opportunities.
Learn how to photograph the night sky
Three days and two nights of learning await. There are plenty of tips and techniques for getting the best out of night sky photography. When you first arrive in Sedona, we’ll head to the classroom to learn night sky photography best practices. This includes how to find the Milky Way, camera settings, how to focus and how to make the most of your time here. After you’ve created the images, what next? There will also be less Photoshop processing.
You can apply the skills you learn during the workshop anywhere.
Now that we’re at the mercy of Mother Nature and the weather, the plan is to spend two nights in locations suitable for taking images of the Milky Way. Star trails are also featured.
Not all work
You will network with other photographers in class as we enjoy dinner with me at one of Sedona’s finest restaurants. You will also have some scheduled free time to explore Sedona as well.
There is much more information than I can share here. So, jump over to my website learn more about the Milky Way and Night Sky Photography Workshop. This year’s dates are June 21-23 — July 21-23 — September 20-22 — October 18-20. If you want to put together your own date or want individual instruction, that is also possible.
If you have any other questions, just give me a shout.
